Long time Lurker, first post and not new to RV'ing
Live near Tacoma WA. Married and seeking motorhome
Long history of camping.
Growing up the family went camping about every month and did so all across the country.
Had several cargo trailers for the off road toys that we camped in for 15-20 years when the toys came out. Trailers kept getting longer so we could get all camping gear with the cargo.
Have had an 1994 dually truck with a 11.5 Western Wilderness pickup camper and pulled a 24' TPD with toys.
Have a 2005 CC Dually and had a 10' Arctic 's Fox pickup camper with solar and a propane gen set also pulling a newer TPD with more toys.
Same truck we have had a 44' Pace American GT Shadow (1/2 living area and 1/2 cargo area with all the amenities needed in an rv, These trailers are overbuilt and have many miles and dirt roads. No, both sandrails do not fit inside, but can get one in with 2 atv's. .(Pic attached).
Have used and pulled many trailers over the last 40 years and a used a few class C and B's..
Half our dune camping group of some 20 families have had various RV's and about 25% have had motorhomes, seems the better way to go.
We have been considering a nice motorhome the last couple of years and as we are reaching retirement age we have decided to sell the Pace American and pick up a nice diesel pusher and a tow behind cargo or stacker trailer.
This is our focus for a coach. 4 slides, tag axle, 400 ISL or better, side radiator, luxury, solar as we plan to boondock on BLM land, pull and handle well.
The focus has been on 2007/2008 Monaco Camelot or it's twin the Holiday Rambler Scepter, and also looking at the Country Coach Allure 37'.
Yeah, I know, all these are related, are made nearby in Oregon and years ago I toured the facility in Coburg, hooked ever since.
Still planning on hittng the dunes, camping, but also planning on cross country trips. Hope to have a MH in the next month but I normally purchase between Thanksgiving and late Feb and have picked up some great deals saving lotta $$,
Been reading these forums for a long time and decided to join ask questions and contribute where I can.
Anyway, Thanks for having me!
