Looking at the orv 25RDS

Have not owned a RV. Wife and I like the ORV 25RDS but when examined close, the wields seem a bit shoddy. I am wondering if any owners have been having problems with the frame wields. It seems like poor workmanship to leave the wields like that. I am not a wielder so I was wondering if someone has anything positive to say about the issue.
Thanks,
Ken

We are long time RV folks....fivers...and after much research and consideration opted for the ORV product....over many others.......build, insulation, follow through warranty...etc.....

This is an excellent floorplan, and rig. Just make sure that you have enough truck to haul it safely when fully loaded! We plan on getting a F-350 7.4 gasser srw for the payload capacity alone as my solar powered brewery is quite heavy as it's all 314 stainless steel. Of course YMMV depending on what you intend to haul besides your TT. Even a plastic canopy will add another 400-600 lbs., depending on size, and design. IMHO payload amount is just as important if not more so than towing capacity. Hoppy travels from The Boondocking Brewer™!

love our 25RDS

We have owned one for the past 6 yrs and it has served us well. No frame issues - or any real problems with the unit. We camp host in Oregon State Parks and live in the rig for two months at a time typically spending 6 months/year in it. We are taking a 6wk vacation this year to Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore so it will get a little more road action. Again we have had no issues with frame welds or any other system. ORV designs and has Northwoods build their frames.

We loved our 250RD for many years and 60,000 miles. Northwood Mfg is noted for the high quality of their self-built frames.

Frame welds are the last thing I worry about on my ORV. The rest of it is susceptible to failure just like everything else in the TT/5er world.
Very few TT/5er manufacturers build their own frames. It's one of the best attributes of an ORV/NW trailer.

After having been a member of this forum for over three years I have only once (that I recall) noticed a post about welds on ORV trailers and that was about a holding tank strut. I would suggest you challenge yourself regarding how to post photos and collaborating info to support your questions and utilize the User CP tools to provide basic info such as home location and eventual purchase info etc. For example, if you are close enough to drive to the ORV plant in La Grande, OR you might visit and take a tour before making a major purchase and have some quality concerns answered (we are going to take a tour in about two weeks). Cheers!...

That original post was 5 1/2 years ago and they never posted again. They didn't hang around for an answer.
