How much can you afford is the first step , then what is available at that price ,and what catches your eye. example 30,000 is your budget ,now whats out there at that price range ,and there are plenty ! I just sold a 2005 Winnebago Aspect 18,000 miles Always stored inside and looked new and ran like new for 25,000 > you will enjoy the hunt and folks here will do all they can to answer any questions .So let the Hunt begin!

Alabama's a big state and an affordable RV is a lot of room for interpretation. What are your needs/desires and what's affordable.

A $1 Million+ luxury coach is affordable to some. Not me, but some... Are you looking for new or used, travel trailer, fifth wheel, or motor home? Unfortunately, affordable RVs often turn out to be anything but affordable. The initial purchase price is only a small part of the cost of owning an RV. Especially looking at new, the trade off is "cheap" RVs, like the Fleetwood Flair or many of the cheaper class C motor homes, tend to be, for lack of a better word, cheaply built. Most who buy them end up being disappointed and wanting better. I'd go for a quality late model used coach over most of the "entry level" motor homes. Keep in mind that while most RV drive trains tend to have 3 year warranties like a lot of cars used to, the coach itself is almost always 1 year industry wide.

Start out by defining your budget, then see if there's anything that fits, but don't forget to factor in maintenance, additional "accessories", and costs to actually enjoy it.

If you're in north Alabama, Bankston Motor Homes tends to maintain a pretty good used inventory in Huntsville and Ardmore. There are a couple of dealers around Birmingham, but I'm not sure of anything specific in south Alabama. There are a number of large dealerships in north Florida.
