Mac&Moe Looking to buy

My name is Mona McDougal. My husband is a quadriplegic and is in a wheelchair. We are in search of an older RV that is equipped for his needs. We are hoping to find something around $20,000.
If you would keep us in mind it would be appreciated.
We are located in Indiana
Thank you
Jerry and Mona McDougal

I hope you find what you are looking for, but it won't be easy with that budget. Good luck in your search.

Hi Mona & Jerry

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.

Your biggest issue is finding an RV that is large enough inside to accommodate a wheelchair. Most class A MHs will have narrow aisles and won't allow passage of a wheelchair with the slides in.
Some of the Class C especially the ones without slides have wider aisles. Some of the Class B MHs are similar to travel vans and may work, but they would have to be modified. Wheelchair lifts are available and may work for you.
Biggest issue however will be your budget.

Good luck with your search.

Happy Trails!!!

I too agree finding something on this budget will be difficult, though there are some handicap accessible RV's out there built with wheel chair lifts, wide aisles, etc. another option might be a toy hauler style coach with a rear lift or ramp, though again not many of those are going to be out there in your budget range. Honestly it is hard enough to find any motorhome at the $20,000 price point that does not require substantial work, much less one with accessibility features.

Thank you.
I know it will be hard to find. Hopefully one day the right person will give me a call.
