Maiden voyage for two nights close to home
Hi folks. We bought a 2004 Neptune diesel pusher a while ago and we are about to take our maiden voyage this week! We are only going about 20 miles away, and we are just going for two nights, but we are very excited! This is in preparation of a longer trip about a week later from Los Angeles to Bozeman, Montana. Hopefully, everything works on the first trip.
We will be camping with some friends who are not new to this (we are), and they will help us with what to bring, how to set up, etc. We are open to any suggestions from all of you experienced RVers. BTW, we come from a background of 15 years boating in Mexico, so I am pretty good at fixing things.
So excited, Bill and Susan

Take what you think you'll need ; but ; have a list of what you took to check against your actual use.
Then make a list of what you needed but didn't bring for your next trip .
After you've done this a half dozen times you'll have your load out list .

Bill,
Tires under 6 years old? Any new belts, hoses, filters, oil and a recent grease job? If so, you are ready to go.
Have a great trip.

Welcome to the group.
One suggestion, while camping this close to home, make a list of what you need. Don't run back home to get it, but if needed for health, yes go get it.
For example, if you just forgot paper towels, don't run home and get these, you will be running home constantly for little things you forgot. Write it down what you forgot to bring.

Don't forget to think about tools for simple repairs. A basic toolkit with screwdrivers, sockets, combination wrenches, pliers, wire cutters, and of course a hammer can be a real game changer.

Thanks for the great replies. Tires were just put on last Friday, and all the belts, filters, and fluids will be changed before the Montana trip.
Cheers, Bill

Welcome, and congrats! It's smart to do a short first trip close to home. You'll be fine.

Bill and Susan, have a great time on your first trip! If you're like me, you are excited about the absolute freedom your coach gives you. You'll be able to, with a moment's notice, pick up and take off to some desired location. What freedom!
Most of all, have FUN!
Kevin
