Thanks for letting me join. Long time camper and just moved up to a 2001
Diesel Holiday Rambler Endeavour 40. Kids have gone and looking at spending a few winter months in Arizona, a far cry from the frozen great white north. Looking at suggestions for camping around the Apache Junction area. I stayed at the KOA for 6 weeks in the winter about 6 years ago and loved it, I just found the price a little high as at the time they had no monthly spots left. Is there other places that are comparable to the KOA thing? Is Yuma a better area or how about the Mexican Baja area?
Thanks for the chance to ask some baby step questions.
Cheers,
Rick

I just did a Google search for "Apache Junction trailer parks that allow RVs in winter" and I found over 22 possibilities. I live in the north end of the Valley so I don't know Apache Junction that well but there are a lot of "snow birds" out there so start looking at websites early and call several that look interesting to you. Talk to the managers and they are usually a very friendly and helpful bunch of people. Apache Junction has some great places to go exploring in the desert and in the Superstition mountains. Just don't tell to many people. We need to conserve Arizona water.
You are joining a good group of friends here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can.
There are a ton of places around Apache Junction and most are pretty much the same. You may find it hard to get a reservation at this point as most are already full. For the last few years we have usually stayed in FL for the winter. However this year we are going to try Yuma (never been before).
Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
