Midlife adventure

Hello!

I've never done anything like this before. I sold my house and am waiting for my fifth wheel to be built while living in my friend's mother-in-law apartment. I've never driven a fifth wheel and have been doing LOTS of research and have plenty of friends guiding me through this process. I bought a Ram 3500 HD diesel truck with an 8 foot bed and a 35 foot Keystone Montana. I'm researching hitches and think I'll be getting a Curt after the OEM puck system is installed. Apparently, that's what a Mopar hitch is. Any guidance from all you experienced folks is greatly welcomed. I'm in Washington State and plan to head south by August. If I'm courageous enough, I'll visit friends on the East Coast too. I purchased a super solar flex package to be able to boondock lots if I can find appropriate spots. I pray that I'm ready for this great adventure! Here goes nothin!!!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. This will make it easier for folks to help with any questions you may have. Below is a link showing how to do that! Look at post #30.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome to iRV2 Cynstress

Remember none of us did this before we did this so we all have had that "What have I done" feeling at some point looking at that first rig

Best advise I can give you is don't worry about those behind you and find a comfortable speed going down the road for you and your rig.
