Hi everyone ,
I just joined your group because I plan on becoming an RV home owner just as soon as I can find a compatible vehicle .
I understand that I am not alone in making a decision to cut loose from property ownership to try living in a moveable house , especially in the times we are living in now and this may be easier said than done however my house is on the market and I need a new home fairly quickly .
I would welcome any advice and guidance that more experienced people can offer as this will be a first for me buying a motorhome .
I have been looking in the Class B / B+ category and am wowed by the new Mercedes Sprinter van models but they are really pricey so thinking of buying used instead if I can find one that has most of my wishlist items below .
Is there such a machine ?
My wishlist is : diesel , 4X4 , high roof , solar panels , large water storage capacity , hydraulic leveling system , gel battery , inverter , LED lighting , retractable awning , back up camera , slide outs , mosquito netting , separate shower , outdoor shower , composting toilet , invection cooktop & an oven ( don't care about a microwave ) larger fridge , Queen bed with another space that can sleep 2 more people , lots of onboard storage , user friendly controls , easy handling & maintenance .
I will be going solo as an older woman and will be traveling with a kayak and bicycle and want to be able to go off the grid and be self contained , not towing anything .
As well as the Airstream Sprinter models the Ford Transit , Tiffin Wayfare , Storyteller Overland , Integra Quest are appealing but all very expensive ! .
I'm sure this all sounds so ignorant and inexperienced , with a taste for a bit of glamping luxury which is true , ha !
Another option could be to buy an empty Sprinter cargo space and throw an air mattress and all my stuff in the back and have it customized whenever I get someplace where I can have it done . Am planning on driving a lot of miles over the next year or so , living in it full time .
Any tips for what else I should look for and suggested models would be much appreciated , thanks !

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can.

I would go with a complete rig rather than try to customize one. Look at the Isata 3 as well.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
