New and Confused (already!)

Hi,
My wife and I just purchased a 1994 HR Imperial. We are slowly working our way through the vehicle and discovering a lot of things that are not working. My first idea was to try and locate an owner's manual, but I read enough discussion about how unhelpful they are, that I am now trying to contact Spartan, to see if can get some documentation there.
I'm sure I will have lots of questions for everyone on this website. If anyone has some words of wisdom, we are all ears!
Thanks, John and Ann (Mesa, AZ)

A good starting point would be to record the Make and Model number of all the appliances and then do a web search. Chances are you can find most of the manuals online with a little bit of searching. For the ones that you can't find, post them here and chances are that other owners with the same equipment will be able to help you out. Members on this forum are very helpful and come through for those of us that need some help occasional.

So, did you buy this from a Dealer or an individual? Before you purchased it did you go threw the coach at that time and did these issues not show up. How about posting a list of issues you are finding and there may be a chance that some of the members here have a quick painless answer for you? Are they Chassis/Engine related or are they "Coach" related questions? In my eyes they are two different items that in some cases are not connected at all.

Good Luck with the coach.. you may want to posts more about the coach ... all the details like model, engine and as much info as you can provide so others have a better idea of what you are talking about.

Sorry for the delay in responding to all of the support and ideas!
I have just relocated to Arizona and have been busy unloading our truck and everything related to that. Things have finally calmed down.
I have already begun documenting all appliances in the vehicle.

My brother knew I was looking for an inexpensive RV and works at a Mesa Chevy dealership. Normally they don't get trade-ins on RV's, but they did in this case. He checked the RV out with some of his mechanic buddies and everything looked good. I was able to purchase it at a very reasonable amount.
Of course, the dashboard looked a little like an airplane to them, so when I've been messing around with the buttons is where I discovered some items aren't working. In short, it appears the engine and chassis are working well, it's more coach questions. For instance, I can't get the leveling jacks to deploy. The system is by HWH, series 610. I think I know where the fluid goes, but I'm a little reluctant in trying open the cap. The jacks are all currently up. The rest of the issues that aren't working are things like the horn, spot lights, rear view TV, etc..
Last thing, there is a device labeled "Remco" (I think) that when in the on position is sounding a buzzing alarm. All the gauges look good, so I don't know what it is warning me about.

Sorry for the novel!

HWH has a lot of information on their website so you may want to start there. There are several versions of the 610 (which I have on my Alpine) and they may have a manual specifically for your coach.

Thanks, I will try the website for additional info.

Also, I forgot to add that our RV has a Cummins 300 Diesel engine with a 6 speed Allison transmission.
