Hello,Hope you dont mind me going by my user name(have a zo6 vette).I've been pretty frustrated looking for a "class A" motorhome,in the $5000 range.Like the Winnebago 'elantra'? Also 22'-27' Brave.I'll be asking questions,or any input will help.I'm retired/disabled,and single,so I'd like to keep it under 27'. Thanks,and zeeulater!

To find a Class A in that range, the prospects are most likely very limited with much older units. Now that RV sales have picked up substantially, the choices might be even more limited. Good luck with your search.

Just me, but from what I've seen that might even be close to that price range, they might be best thought of as do it yourself kits? With all due respect, if purchased by somebody retired/disabled, this idea sounds like a train wreck about to happen?

Consider the fact the coaches in this price range generally have one foot in the scrap yard already. Your goal, when you get one of these DIY projects, is to get that one foot out of the scrap yard. This is going to require money and/or a lot of sweat equity? When considering the money route, you may be further ahead spending that money for a coach that doesn't have one foot in the wrecking yard and be further ahead for it? Suggest you proceed further with MUCH caution! It doesn't take much at all for that second foot to be in the scrap yard and the owner to be out whatever they have invested. My opinion, FWIW.

ahicks is spot on with his comments. While we would love to see another person join the ranks here we need to be realistic as well. There are coaches out there in your price range but you had better be able to work on it yourself. If you are adventurous and have experience in auto and home repair and another $5000 then you might make it come together. If you have to pay others to fix everything then take a deep breath and find something else besides an old motorhome to "invest" your $5K into.
