New and needy

I've sold my little T@G teardrop...I now need something a bit more real.

Im a single 60 year old woman from Asheville NC. (Why go else where?) I love wandering. I want to see all of the country this country is. See all kinds of mountains and more water than is around here.

I have a daughter in Seattle. I've made two cross country trips to go visit....but there's so much more.

I need your wisdom and advice and connections to make it a major part of my lifestyle.

I hope to make friends and learn more.

Thanks for having this forum to turn to and hope to meet many of you.

Thanks

Welcome to irv2.
Here is a link to help you get started and for systems that would be on any type RV check this link out, you need to remember things will need maintenance whether its new or old.
You may want to visit a RV Rental to get some experience behind the higher class A for instance.
Good luck in your persuit.

Welcome!

Most solos wind up in a motorhome. I've only met one with a toad. He was a Californian in a 40 some foot class A. What you get depends on your budget and needs. My 28 foot C is really a bit big for me but still gets into a "double-length" (two spaces really) spot in parking lots so I don't need to park length wise. In smaller parking lots that is very helpful.

I didn't make it for the last few years but I like to spend time around Murphy. It is a really pretty area.

Find a FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) national family reunion or whatever they call them. EVERY possible motor home example is there for you to check out, from small Sprinter Class Bs to all sizes of Class A and Cs. There are a lot more examples there than at local RV expos. Check 'em out and decide what you like. Rent a Class C from Cruise America to get a feel for a typical Class C.

If you buy used, be sure and get a prepurchase inspection by an independent person.

Good luck and welcome!

Denise and I have a good friend who is a single RV pilot and she travels in A "C" Class and it seems to fit her needs and she hauls her Smarty behind it four down.

Our friend also summers in Seattle where her daughter lives and then she snowbirds the southern states to keep warm in the winter.

I will PM our friend and have her contact you. Being a single female wander the continent she should be able to answer most of your questions.

Hi Bon!

I'm the person that Dennis AKA Possum mentions above. I sent you an email thru IRV2. I learned everything I know about RVing either from the folks here or by making a mistake first. Keep reading and asking questions. There is an unlimited wealth of knowledge here.
