New Family to the RV Life!!

Greetings everyone! My name is Tank and just wanted to stop in and say hello fro Bear, Delaware. My wife and I just purchased our first camper trailer. We have always wanted a beach house and we thought the perfect way to enjoy weekends at the beach was to stay in the state park we visit every weekend. We had been looking for a pop up caper but quicly realized that wanted just a little more without having to break our budget. We were fortunate enough to find what we believe to be a diamond in the rough!! Through Craigslist we found a 1992 Gulf Stream Innsbruck 2505. It's 25 foot (including the tounge) travel trailer. Being a handy guy, I feel confident in the little work that needs to be done, (small water leak in bedroom area) as well as the custom work we plan on doing to get the trailer ready for fun in the sun!! Thanks in advance for any tips any of you veterans of the road may have for me and my family!! Would love to share pics throughout the renovation project.

Glad you're aboard. Check for soft spots in the wood around the water leak. Best of luck in your decision. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

Welcome to the irv2 gang, Tank & DW! Glad you two decided to join. Folks here are really helpful, so you should find plenty of ideas, suggestions on repairs and advice. I'm not sure whether anyone already commented on "leaks" and the floor damage they can bring to you. Just a thought: If your leak had a way of reaching your floor, you should probably look underneath your flooring to make sure it does not have mildew or damaged wood. It can be really disappointing to finish a lot of work only to discover later that your floor is not holding up. Good luck with your new-to-you set of wheels!
