New from hither and yon
Newest kid on the block I reckon Started camping in canvas pup tents in the northern Maine woods some 45+ years ago. Evolved through the deluxe back of pickup trucks with three children, tent camper, travel trailers, GMC motorhome, class C's and now our small Class A. Hope we've come to the end of the line as prices keep going up...

Aggie:
G'morning and a BIG WELCOME. Yeah, I too started out pounding the portages of the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) along the Minnesota/Ontario border and have loved "camping" since. Incidentally our canoe was an Old Town from your neck of the woods. A GREAT canoe.
Glad to have ya along and hope to meet up with you down the road.

We have a 2001 R-Vision Travel-Lite 24J on the workhorse with the 8.1 powerplant. Suits the wife and I and our two Springer spaniels to a "T". Didn't want to get into the whole "toad/dinghy" mode so the 24' is perfect length; not much longer than my '93 3500 GMC 6-pack pickup with its 8' bed (22' bumper to bumper).
And thanks to all for the welcome

Yep, the prices keep going up because our old bodies require more comfort as time goes by. I can't imagine trying to crawl out of a pup tent after sleeping on the ground. I don't think I'd be able to stand up.

Me neither, although at the time a thick bed of balsam branches underneath the sleeping bags was quite comfortable.

Ours was a Mad River canoe (Vermont made). Probably couldn't afford one now (Couldn't paddle one either... )

Howdy and welcome. It sounds like we both took the same path up the ladder in our camping adventure. Oh, come on there has to be room for one more rig. Right??? Enjoy your travels.
