Smile New from Illinois

Hail! New member, future full-time boondocker from IL.

Have wanted to do this for a while, but love where I live, well now it's getting sold so very excited (and a tiny bit nervous) about the change. Mostly excited. Have family in Chicago area, Dallas area, Indy area, and in Florida, so will be mostly in those places.

Still researching what to do for mail, like forwarding things, and for my DL (I can use my dad's local IL residence if I have to). My brother lives in TX and I could stay on his property, and I know TX has no state income, but I think I want to keep as many things the same as possible, and so unless I end up spending most time in TX don't want to go that route.

But enough bout me, great forum, I really appreciate the discussions. I went to 2 rv dealerships locally, big ones, and got bad information on power, good to have a place to ask questions, invaluable! In fact I'm sure I couldn't do this without all the guides and wisdom of previous/current rv'ers willing to share their stories. It's awesome.

Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

Hope the full-timing works out good for you! Do a lot of research before you buy an RV. Mistakes can cost you big bucks!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thanks everyone! I'm very excited and a little nervous. I got the buying guide from RV consumer group and actually seems to match what I've read here and there, so that's good. I do have time and doing research like crazy. Right now worrying about who can do the solar install because it seems it is something people keep telling me they can do, but do they do it right. ;p (I'm not good hands and for initial rv setup want everything professionally done). Thanks again all!
