New From South Carolina
Hello forum members,
My wife and I are so excited, and a little scared
We are both brand new to the camping world, neither of us has ever stayed a night in a RV of any description. This way of travel has had our attention for several years.
Well you could say we jumped right in, head first! We are picking up a new Precept 31UL later this week. We have shopped for over a year, we considered class C, 5th wheels, and class A. You know our decision.
Our plan is to start on a few short trips (100 - 150 miles), then we will venture further away from home.
This is kind of like "love it or leave it". If we love it then we may consider a diesel pusher in a couple years, if we don't then we lost a few dollars but had fun trying it. We truly think we are going to love it.
I'm sure I'll have all kinds of newbie questions, I appreciate layman answers for now.
If you see a 31UL pull in with SC tags and the owners look lost, that will probably be us
Hope to meet each and everyone of you on the road somewhere.
Steve

Congrads on your new adventure. When you get it home camp in it for week in the driveway. Make a list of everything you forgot or needed while camping in the driveway. Spoons, cups, soap, frying pan, ect.
Make a list for setting up camp, and one for breaking camp If you have a crank up antenna don't forget to put it down. (nope I have not made that mistake yet, it is on my break camp list)

Welcome to the forum!!! We are glad you joined us!!!
I will echo what others said about making checklists (or procedures) to keep you from doing something not so smart like forgetting to put up your pop up crank (It should still be somewhere on I-80 in Nebraska. Granted you don't have to use a crank like my wife and I did.

Welcome to the gypsie side of life. Hopefully you'll like it as much as we do and have many miles of fun and safe travels.
I might suggest coming down to the Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort and bring your bicycles.

Columbia, where it gets as hot as anywhere in the US in July/August.
Just noticed you're in Blythewood, you know all to well. I know a lot of people in your area, played a lot of golf your way too.

I will check it out, we may need a shorter trip or two in the beginning. I know why you like us newbies, see us pull in a RV park and we become your entertainment
