New from the PNW
Hello Everyone!! Thank you for letting me join your community!!
I close on my house next Tuesday and want to RV full time. I have 2 dachshunds and a 3 legged cat. My work has been with the elderly as a caregiver/advocate. I am looking at small class C's that are four season capable. I don't want to pay the big bucks for a new one. but of course want something that is reliable. I have the motorhomes reports for 2008 - 2017 but I would much rather talk to an actual owner. I have only RVed once before and just loved it, but am indeed green. I have watched hundreds of hours of youtube videos and read a lot. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
I really like the Winnebago Navion 24J and saw a member has one posted for sale....not sure how that would do if it were less than 20 degrees outside though.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. 
RVing in cold climates will always be a challenge but it is doable. Most important will be the systems and insulation, such as double pane windows as opposed to single pane. The most important thing is to make sure that the floor plan you are looking at will meet your needs. If your looking at a 24' class C, try to rent one for a weekend. Take the animals and see how you do. It may be a perfect fit, or you might need to go a bit larger. After you have bought an RV it will be expensive to upgrade to something bigger.
I'm sure you will get other suggestions.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang! 
Hope you find the perfect RV for your needs! My neighbor across the street has a 2015 Itasca Navion 24J for sale in the IRV2 classifieds, probably the one you mentioned. It is just like new! It's also listed on RVTrader.com with lots of pics!

x2 on the idea of renting to try the size. We started out with a used 26' Class C, and soon found it too small for the two of us and two Labradors. We sold it after less than one season and bought a used 32' Class A. We really enjoyed that rig, but at the time we owned it, gas prices in the places we travelled were around $4.50/ gallon. At 7.5 mpg, it just got too expensive. We had 3 good years with it, but only used it as supplemental sleeping quarters in the driveway the 4th year (2014) . We had a lot of visitors that year as it was our Golden Wedding anniversary year.
We sold it in December that year. We miss the lifestyle, but not enough to go back to it!

Thank you for the welcome and the advice!! RE your neighbor in MS, my daughter, grandson and son-in-law live on the Air Force base in Biloxi....He is a Coast Guard XO out of Pascagoula) I will be flying out there later this month for a visit. Was hoping to be driving an RVF by then, but I do not want to rush and make the wrong decision. I have rented an RV and the 23-26 range works well for me and the furkids. My base will always be the PNW, but I plan on living in the RV full time. right now taking a break from purging and selling everything as the house closes on Feb 1.
