New Full-timers!
Hi everyone! Beginning October 23rd, my wife and I hit the road full time! We’ll be hauling our 2018 Coachmen Chaparral 391 5’er behind our 2006 Ford F-350 SRW Diesel! We’ve got the truck and take delivery on the 5’er in a couple weeks! We start our journey in Virginia Beach (go away Florence!) and will be there for 3 months. We are very excited to get on the road as newbies with a ton to learn. Thanks everyone! Happy trails!

Don't forget to check the full timers forum under the "Forums" tab at the top of the page.
Good luck with the transition.

Welcome!
Best wishes on your new 'Lifestyle' (we FTd for 7 yrs)
LESS is MORE
SO load truck up 'camp ready'......everything that will be in truck when you hit the road and go to a CAT Scales and get truck weighed.
Pay attention to how much weight is on Rear Axle.....vs RAWR
Difference is how much WET Pin weight you can 'carry' before exceeding RAWR (you do NOT want to exceed RAWR OR Rear Tire Max Load Ratings)
FTng means you will have a tendency to LOAD that trailer up.
Remember 20-25% of trailer weight will be pin weight truck has to carry
Once you get trailer ---load it up and go get truck/trailer weighed.
You will NOT be on vacation.......so take the time to enjoy this phase in life.
Stop/see/experience/be adventurous as you travel
We moved weekly/bi-monthly cause we hit the road to travel not park/live in a trailer.
Mondays were travel days...break camp by 10AM and be setting up next place by 3PM....250 miles MAX
Then spend rest of week out and about exploring/venturing around
Saturdays were for laundry/maintenance-up keep
Sundays...relaxing ---planning next destination
LESS is MORE

An update: The truck you see pictured that we were sold is a complete rust bucket. The dealership we bought it from lied about “surface rust” and didn’t tell us the bed of the truck is from a newer F-350. Had 2 different mechanics inspect it and concluded that not only can it not tow a RV it’s not even safe to DRIVE! We are currently seeking legal counsel as we tried to get our money back which didn’t go over well. We did have to buy another truck in the meantime, but what an unfortunate setback.
