New full timers with two teenage daughters in Tennessee for now

Hey y’all! We are living our traveling and simple lifestyle while we are still young. We are currently in Tennessee and loving it! We are however interested in moving on from a campground to possibly renting private land for a 6 month to a year period. My husband and I both have jobs here working for a campground and a farm and while the campground is great we are the only host this winter so we would love to find private land for the spring and summer at least. Anyone else out there using private land instead of campground? What’s the pros and cons?

Moving to private land will involve you or the land owner being able to provide electric, water, a place for sewer dumping, being able to procure propane if you need it. If you do not have access to a place to dump your holding tanks and refill the water tank or have city water, then you are going to have to move the trailer every few days to somewhere that you can do those things.

In addition to the logistic issues with utilities I would make sure of legalities before investing into land. I.e. check with local authorities that there are no laws/codes against long term RV living beforehand.
