New Guy checking in
A bit about me. I have never owned a RV but am looking at dipping my toes in the pool as it is. I am looking at a late 90‘s Minnie Winnie with low miles but a really rough exterior later this week. I may check in with some newbie type questions as to values and recon costs on the exterior. All suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome...
On any older RV, "delam" (separation of the outer fiberglass skin from it's backing) or rotted underlying supports can be very costly and time consuming to make right. Always take a good flashlight with you to look inside of interior and exterior storage areas. Take a rug and take a look under the RV. So many things to look at: hydraulic leveling jacks leaking?, brake lines rusted?, age of tires?, soft floor?,

Welcome to IV2. Sometimes an older rig with low mileage is not a good thing. Means it may have sat around in the elements with little use. I would have it inspected.....even though its a good or great price you might be buying an expensive cheap RV....Anyway you go good luck.

So we finally pulled the trigger on a RV, a 1993 Holiday Rambler Alumlite. It has 35,000 miles on a Ford chassis with the 460 engine. It is in really good condition on the inside and average on the exterior. We will be able to see if we like the lifestyle on a relatively small initial investment, which was the goal. Looking forward to the adventure. If anyone has any advice on this model I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
Bob

Welcome to the lifestyle of the affluent homeless or more common the full time MH. Welcome the daily repair and maintenance list that never ends just like the home. Now before you get all down hearted welcome to the scenic beauty you will see, the new friends you will meet and the fun you will have traveling on the road of America. I have been on the road for a little over a year and have enjoyed every moment of the journey. We also volunteer at a National Park which just great fun and you learn a lot about the parks. This should be the absolute best time of your life!!!!
