Hello:
Just thought I would check in and make my presence known to everybody.

Currently, just about all of my camping is being done in California on military bases because of what I'm doing for veterans. www.chcv.org will explain that.

Right now I'm getting to leave for Travis AFB for about a month.

Rest assured I'll be asking questions and posting material as time permits.

I've been RVing for about two years with TT's. Before that I used a 1964 Mercedes 404 Unimog, German Army ambulance. With those vehicles, when you look at extremely rough terrain or five feet of snow the question isn't can I do it, but do I want to.

Hello guys and puppy:

Yeah, I'm a dog lover. Big time.

This trip to Travis, like all of the others I made there, is my camping location while I visit every legislator in Sacramento. In fact, I was stationed at Travis before I extended my tour of duty to go to Vietnam.

That being said, I would be happy to meet you folks. Soooo, I'll email when I get there.

Dave, welcome to iRV2.

Come back and visit us often.

Gotta take care of our Vets.

Unimog's are so cool. I always like check them out when I see one, but unfortunately it's always online, as I've not seen one in person.

Here in Shake and Bake (California) they have a Unimog gathering at the ghost town of Calico every year. If I can figure out how to send photos through this site, I'll shoot off a couple on the one I had and one German truck conversion into a MH that will blow you away. In the meantime,
http://www.northwestmogfest.com/ and then we have this http://members.shaw.ca/dhalkett/default.htm How about http://www.expeditionimports.zoovy.com/ And we can't forget http://www.rockymountainmoggers.com/unimog.html

Unimog Dave...
If you can't figure out how to post a photo here in the photo section after looking around ... then please PM me with your information. I will call and walk you through it. (The trick is.. you do have to register again for photo uploads AND campground reviews...but there is NO charge and it is accessible from anywhere...plus the approval delay has decreased tremendously from how it was a year ago!)
I have started using this photo site for any RV-camping related photos ..and it has been great for me!
Good Luck.. and thanks for the job you are doing! (BTW.. I have recently moved from Sacramento and my husband (SacsTC..here on the forum) is also a VN vet)
