New here from Michigan

Time to expand my horizons and say hi!

I started camping in the 60's with my parents and siblings. We had a odd box type trailer, only about 4 feet tall inside, set up for sleeping 2 on the floor and 2 more in the "loft". Not home made but nobody in the family can remember the name.

Traveled for a year, age 13-14 with just my parents in 1974-75 sightseeing the USA and Canada in a 30 ft. Aalite and 455 powered Vista Cruiser.

When my wife of 29years and I got married, we went through several trailers including popups, TT's and FW's.

We currently own a 2011 Coachmen Brookstone 354TS and haul it with a 2013 F350 DRW 6.7 Lariat. On occasion, on the back of the Brookstone is attached a SwivelWheel 58DW for our old Goldwing.

Pleasure to be aboard!

Thanks to all.

I bought the Swivel Wheel off Craigslist from a fellow that was using it behind his motorhome for trips back and forth to Florida.

Overall, it has worked very well. Put new D rated tires on it and took it from Michigan to Montana and back last summer. Didn't seem to have any affect on towing.

It does swing wider, and that got me in trouble once at a private park when I went down the wrong road. Had to swing 90 degrees left, then right 90 degrees, with all kinds of cars parked around. Had to actually have people push a wood fence over a few inches so I could get by. Embarrassing.

Other than that, I had no problems in fueling stations or elsewhere. And one other time, at Big Sky resort, again down the wrong road. Had to back up, and turn up at an angle, to make a full 180 degree turn. Wife was so proud of me, she could not stop talking about it.

I bought 12 foot folding ramps. They worked fine and fit in the back of the truck even with the Yamaha 3000ISEB generator in the back (all hail 8 foot beds, ).

It certainly looks and sounds like you have a solid handle on it.

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join the gang!

That's a beautiful rig! We pulled a 5er for 10 years before getting the MH in 2012. We loved it! Hope you enjoy the forum!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
