New here, new to RVing

Hello there! Well, I just registered on the site, and am proud to say I purchased my first RV last week! I will take it off the lot on Tuesday before taking it on it's maiden voyage to Burning Man next weekend! I am extremely nervous that I'm in over my head with an RV, but know it well be well used, and that is all that matters. I'm more nervous about the daily upkeep and understanding how everything works. If anyone has advice or pointers, please send them my way! I'll be in the desert with no hookups, no water, no dumps, no area to fuel up, no electricity for a week. I need to make sure I am completely self sufficient and the RV as well. I wont be using the restroom facility on board because there will be porta potties and since there wont be dumping, I'd rather not have a stinky RV in my first trip. Anything else, like tips on using the fridge (is it ok to use the whole time to keep perishables cold?) and the other appliances would be appreciated. Thanks and looking forward to becoming a seasoned RVer and get to know some amazing people on here!

You have come to the right place, Beachy! Boondocking is where you live "off the land", and are not tied to power and water at a campground. As already stated, watch water usage (if you have done time in the US Navy on subs, a "2-minute" shower will bring back memories that are apropos in this situation), make sure the generator works well, and change out all those halogen lights for LED. Best wishes and good luck!

Well tomorrow begins the maiden voyage. Albuquerque to Vegas. Then Vegas to Reno and on to black rock city where burning man takes place! Going to be an epic trip! Just hope as much goes well as possible (I pretty much know all going well is improbable). Lol. Thanks for the love everyone!!

Just wondering what kind of RV did you buy, and how was the first leg of your drive?
