New Kid in Town...

Ok...maybe not a kid!
Hi everyone, I became a lurker a few weeks ago when my wife suggested we purchase a MH so we could spend the winters far from the cold, to which I hesitated...not at all. At that point, I decided I'd better join and maintain what reputation I have (and avoid continued LURKER guilt).
I have had campers and trailers, as well as, a couple of RV vacations and loved every minute. So, it wasn't difficult to embrace the idea...just shocked a bit, but we have too have room for our two "boys" Ty (pit bull-terrier) and newly adopted Gavin (Shih-tzu/terrier), to go with us...they need to see the country too.
Well today, we actually put a down payment on a 2008 Gulfstream Independence and we're hoping all goes well and we can join the RVing community for real.
I retired last April and my wife plans to follow this spring.
I have found a lot of valuable information and enjoy reading the many opinion, while researching our chosen path. There is a vast amount of knowledge out there and I hope to be able to utilize more in the future.
Thanks and enjoy the ride...sorry about the long message.
Tom
