Hello all. DH and I have a 2014 Winnebago Journey 36M on order and expect to take possession of our motor home in late Feb or early March. We are excited, but also somewhat intimidated as this is our first coach and it feels like there is so much we don't know. We plan on taking the dealership's driver confidence course. Any advice for us?

Camp close to the house or dealership for your first few times.

How exciting! It is great that your dealer offers the confidence course. To me, it's important that both know how to drive the rig. My dh is the main driver, but I want to know how the rig feels & responds when one is driving. There are times when DH needs a break but we need to keep rolling.
I have a notebook that is just for our rv. I started it right away with the new rig. Notes on our walkthrough; ph #s of the people from the dealer & from the manufacturer. I use it now for a travel journal & for keeping track of the fuel.
In '09 when we got our first rig, I took notes on our walkthru but when we got home & were trying something as simple as the awning (it wasn't automatic) we forgot how the tech had shown us. DH said we should have used our phones to record the walkthru. Second best to that? Youtube! Tons of videos showing you how to deal with anything on your rig. Many of the videos done by qualified technicians along with some unique offerings.
While you're waiting on your rig, watch Robin Williams in RV.
Welcome to irv2! This is such a wonderful place to meet others & to learn! We'll see you out on the roads! Safe travels!

Great suggestions! I especially like the Robin Williams suggestion! http://www.irv2.com/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif
We are planning on going to the RV Supershow in Tampa next week, to confirm that the coach we have ordered is really the one for us. After that, it will be 4 to 6 weeks till we have our new toy.
Good idea about the notebook and phone!
