New to the RV world! Bought a 2004 Fleetwood Prowler and the second time I used it I went to visit a friend about 3 hours away from home and on the way home I had a major blow out! It ripped up the skirting above the tires as well as marked up the side from the tire hitting it. I could not pull over as major construction was happening on the hwy. so I had to continue driving until I could pull off the hwy. what a way to lean about your rig. So yes even though the tires looked ok and the previous owner said they were good, I learned the hard way about the 5 year max suggestion on tire life. Well I just finished taking off the back siding and tearing out all the rotten wood and replacing it all. The outdoor shower had leaked and what a mess. Also the supports on the sides were rotten bc of the back not being sealed properly. Soooo I am learning a lot about the 5 th wheel. More than I ever thought! But I almost have it all put back together and am looking forward to having some fun in it next week. I'm going to the beach for a few days. Glad to be a new member here and look forward to traveling. I feel like there is so much to learn. Love the different topics and input from others.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

Sorry about the problems. There are many threads regarding tire life in here. Do a search and you'll find many thoughts on tire life. Five years is not a long time for a tire.

Happy Trails!!!

Welcome to the iRV2 forum. Where are you from? We owned a Fleetwood Prowler Travel Trailer a ways back, and it was probably the best fun we ever had. With our two daughters that trailer visited probably 25 out of the 50 states and gave them experiences they talk about today with their our grandkids!

Best of luck getting the new to you RV fixed up.
