Hello
My name is Matthew, my wife and I live in Tucson Az, we have just got are first fifth wheel RV, I retire for a second time in 4 months, she retires in 2026 so the plan is to travel where we want.
We pickup are new Keystone Cougar from camping world on Monday, right around rush hour so my anxiety is going crazy as I have towed anything in traffic in a few years. So if anybody has any pointers it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,

First, welcome to the group.
Second, you can take a driving lesson, which could help you become more confident in driving.

Welcome aboard Matt.
Just remember that that new 5'r will not track right behind the truck. so, watch those right turns. We don't want you curb hopping. Copy what the semi's do and take both lanes.
Also make sure you know exactly how tall your rig is in case you travel back east. The bridges get lower back there.
Happy trails,
Mike in Colorado

Welcome to the site. You will enjoy your camper. I'm sure of that. As stated the trailer will turn inside your turning curve. So turn wide. You will catch on. Also physically measure your height. Fifth wheels sit a little high. Check your route for height restrictions. As mentioned out here on the east coast we have a lot of low bridges and under passes.

Hi Conch and welcome! Is it possible to change your appt time? My first thought was after paperwork and walk-thru… rush hr might be over by the time you get out of there. Then again, it might be dark too. Not sure thats the best idea with a new camper either. Whatever you decide, best of luck with it. Enjoy!

Conch, welcome to the forum. We just drove thru Tucson "holiday rush hour" and it wasnt fun. If you can't change your timing, then take it slow. Good ideas for driving school, and tips to not curb hop. Drive wide, then turn sharp as the 5vr clears the object. See you out there.

We were able to change the our walkthrough and delivery to yesterday, drove home with our new Keystone Cougar 29RLI. It towed great behind the truck, parking was a little bit of a chore on our street as people were in a hurry to go get party supplies at 11AM, brother-in-law helped wife learn how to guide me in to position in the yard.
Thanks for all the advice.
