I just bought my first RV. A 1993 Fleetwood Bounder. I'm a bit overwhelmed at all I need to know!!
Making my inaugural trip to Charlotte NC and I can't seem to get the water heater running. I turn the switch on and the light stays lit.....doesnt ignite.
I hope I can get 'er fixed before I leave on Thursday!!

Is the propane on? Is the propane leak detector turned on? Mine won't provide gas unless 12volts are going through the leak detector then it takes a few minutes to come on. I always turn on the stove first and once I know it lights then the water heater will as well. You may also have the dual heat tank that has an electric vs propane switch make sure your on propane.

Welcome from someone that is so not mechanically inclined - that is what hubs is for. But then he can't boil water so we're the perfect pair - hope you get it fixed so you can boil water.

Thanks for the help. Propane was on, LP detector was on. As it turns out it was a loos spade connector at the high limit switch on the tank. All is well now.
Off to Charlotte for the Auto Fair on Thursday.
I'm so excited to make my first trip!!!

Bussman:

Hi from Tampa and a BIG WELCOME to iRV2. Glad ya got the water heater going. Figuring out all those kind of little glitches is how we learn about our rigs. I don't think it ever ends. Have fun up in Charlotte!!
