Hello everyone.

Just joined the group - have a 2005 Itasca Cambria 26' that we bought last year (4/2010) but are already thinking of upgrading to a Class A 32 - 36' unit.

Biggest question in looking at class A is Ford frame vs Workhorse vs whatever else there is. Any comments or references to check would be appreciated. I will also be looking through all the forums in this site.

Thanks

For a gas rig, those are the choices, that is if you're looking at used (there currently is no Workhorse gas chassis offered). Each has it's fans. We had a Ford, with the V10, and I was quite happy with it. I would not hesitate, however, to purchase a rig built on the Workhorse chassis though, assuming it was otherwise everything I wanted.

One Caveat on the Workhorse. Before buying check to see if it was subject to the brake recall and if so, has it been done.

Happy hunting!

Check to see where the official Ford and Workhorse Service centers are near your house!! We loved our Ford Triton V-10, and the official repair facility was closer. Now we have a workhorse, and the recall made us drive 1 hour for the drop off. Kind of a pain.
