Hi everybody! I'm Yvonne from Philadelphia and new to the RV-ing world.
I'm working on a 50-state retirement tour, doing the lower 48 via RV. That's about 15 years out, so I have PLENTY of time to prepare!

On the near horizon, I've decided that a truck and 5th wheel is the RV set up that will work best for me and I'm in the process of looking for a starter truck (Chevy Silverado 2500HD) and a starter 5th wheel. (Any suggestions on the best brands?) I hope to be able to get these over the next 2-3 years.

Meanwhile, I've joined several RV forums, including this one, and am learning the ropes from more experienced RVers. When Spring comes, I'll be visiting some RV gatherings and maybe renting a rig for a short trip.

Glad to be part of this group. I will keep you posted on my progress and look forward to listening and learning from you!

Welcome and good luck. Any of the current brands of trucks are capable. They all have the amenities of comfortable cars. Try to get as new of a truck as possible, and then maybe a little more relaxed on the 5th wheel. The truck has to be reliable.. the 5th wheel, not so much.

Welcome!! Searching and shopping for your perfect rig is half the fun. The only fiver I ever owned was a Jayco Designer. Pulled it with a F-350 dually. Loved it. But, love my Entegra more!! Good luck in your search!! Did you ever go to the RV show In Hershey? Great place to see what's around...
