So we have stepped off the cliff and dove right in purchasing a (new to us) 2004 Monaco Camelot 38PBDD about a week ago. I have often lurked around here reading threads but never signed up. Look forward to reading and learning as much as possible as our only experience has been with a 5th wheel trailer. Thanks to all who make this a great forum.

Thanks. Funny you should say that because it's kinda a bear to drive. It wanders pretty bad however I knew that going in. Gonna try some fixes that I have read on here and experiment with tire pressures.

With regard to your statement about the coach wandering, allow me to expound about my test drive in my Dutch Star. Started up the Interstate and was wandering all over the place. I had never driven a coach before so my first thought was, "Something is VERY wrong here!!!" Later in the test drive, I ended taking out two mail boxes. The turn onto that particular road was suggested by my sales person who should have known better.

The next time I took the coach out, I spent some money getting someone to teach me and my wife how to handle the coach safely.

After schooling was completed, I took the coach out for a short trip to Gaffney, SC. Each time I drove the coach, the more the coach "came to me".

Your mileage may vary and congrats on your new rig.

Thanks. I used to drive a city bus for monitored prisoner work release and have also driven big trucks throughout my career including fire trucks so I am very familiar with driving this sort of vehicle. We just learned today how to recode the keyless entry today. WOOHOO!!
