Hello everyone.

My wife and I are searching for a used Newmar Motorhome. We are considering purchasing one from a private seller. What do you recommend to have the coaches condition evaluated before purchasing? Also, is it advisable to have a legal contract drawn up since it would be from a private seller? We're not sure what the process would be since it is such a large expenditure.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

The first thing that you should do is hire an independent certified inspector (one you pay for) to look at the entire coach and systems.

Goos luck

Welcome aboard.
A used Newmar! My dream. Planning on buying a Dutch Star next winter. Can't wait, although the C-19 is slowing us down.

What model are you looking at? Lots of good advice here.

Nice enough looking rig and 400 HP (1250 torque) will get you there but under the 1HP/100lbs rule. Not a fan of the bath & half especially for snowbirding... how much time are you going to spend back there? Do you really need 3 sinks? Hopefully the full way slide does not give trouble... do not know anything about the slides Newmar uses.

No need to worry about NPs with the small amount of windows that open... have to run the generator for AC so FHU CGs will be a better choice and only a few have that. Agree with other post to not limit the size because of NOs, that’s why you tow a car/Jeep.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

It would be good to have a certified RV inspector give the rig a good going over before you buy. I wouldn't worry about a contract, just a bill of sale is fine!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
