New Member Checkin

We are a 60 year old couple. We've camped in one form or another our whole lives. We had a popup camper when the kids were little. When the kids quit camping with us, we 'graduated' to teardrop. We currently have a Nucamp T@b 400 which we love.

As we begin to think about retirement in the next few years, we want to get something a little bigger that requires less contortion skills to move around in. We are also both remote workers and want to start taking advantage of that by working from the road.

We have pretty well narrowed it down to the Lance 2285 or the Outdoors RV Back Country 24KRS. They are very similar layouts and both seem to be very high quality construction. We are also planning to upgrade our truck from a 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton. We are contemplating diesel which I realize may be considered overkill for this size camper but it feels like it would provide a little more peace of mind in tougher towing situations.

I really appreciate all the great debates and information on both of these topics that I've found on the site.

I hope to be able to contribute at lease half as much as I'm learning on here!

Chugo, I too am new here but still want to extend a warm welcome to the forum.
As long as my wife and I have been camping, I've still learned a thing or two reading this forum quietly in the back ground.
Again, WELCOME!

Welcome to the group to both of you.
One thing, getting a bigger truck leaves the door open for one to wonder "how much larger of a camper can we pull without any problems with the truck?"
