Talking New member checking in!

Hi everyone! SO glad I found you! Here's my story!
I'm a newly divorced mom of three. My older two kids (23 and 19) are both out on their own..one in Virginia and one in NC...and until last year I was stuck over an hour from each of them in a rented house in North Carolina. I work from home full time and my youngest son (12) is homeschooled and he and I got to talking about how silly it was to have such a big house for just us and the dogs and how sad we were that we couldn't visit family more often. At one point he said "what about those houses that people drive everywhere?". He was talking at the time about "Tennessee Tiny Homes", those little 200sq ft homes on trailers. I actually did a bit of looking but they're not very cost effective yet and don't do financing I could afford but the idea got me thinking about motorhomes. I loved the idea of just driving and being somewhere when he woke up the next day. So I started doing tons of research and it just so happened a friend of mine had recently bought a brand new Itasca Sunrise and then had a family health emergency and could no longer keep it. They were upside down in it so I assumed their payments and we moved in last November. We've had our share of issues, mostly because this is a 2007 with 7000 miles on her and she sat idle a very long time, but we are slowly getting the little things fixed and we're about to take our first long journey down to the Florida Keys in a few months...just me, my son and our 6 (yes..6) dogs and cat. I was terrified at first but this community has been SO awesome! Everyone has been helpful everywhere we've been and I haven't had a second where I've felt alone or unsafe. It's been a great learning experience and a great healing one as well after the mess of a divorce I've finally put behind me. I'd love, however, to have others to share experiences with..especially those somewhere around my age (41) but it's not a requirement certainly! I'm currently in Ashland, VA at an awesome campground with great wifi (a necessity for me since I work remotely) and will be here another month or so while I do some final repairs on the RV and my poor old car. I can't wait to hear from some of you! Sorry this is so long!! Have a great week! -Jo
