Just joined the site. Looks like a great community with loads of info. Have been navigating around looking for ideas, comments and suggestions for summer trip from AZ to Mt Rushmore, SD.

To help you along a time table and possible things to see along the way would be a little more helpful. There is so much to see in the West it's unbelievable. I lived in Tucson for a whole year, I understand the summer and monsoon season. I also know that Tucson is quite a bit different from Scottsdale.

We moved here from St Louis about 8 years ago. There is no humidity, usually around 20% in summer and it makes a big difference when it gets above 105 degrees.
