Long time lurker, first time poster...my husband and I are nearly ready to pull the trigger and get our first truck and trailer. We are still not sure which trailer will best suit our needs, so that's why I joined, so that I can ask questions from this knowledgeable group. We're thinking a 25 ft TT, with an F-150. Just need to make sure all the numbers work for a safe, pleasant towing experience.
Looking forward to getting out on the road , instead of just reading about it.

Why a 1/2-ton truck? My thoughts are if you decide you want more room later, will the 1/2-ton be enough truck? Plan ahead, if possible, with the tow vehicle, if you can.
But welcome to the group from the Thousand Trails Park, Three Flags, in Wildwood, Fl., for now.

We really don't want a huge super duty truck, but of course payroll considerations makes it look like we may not be able to avoid it. If i could only find my unicorn trailer...

You will find a tremendous amount of information here and a deep talent pool.
Ready, Fire, Aim. I doubt there is anyone that bought their last RV first. Most of us change over time going up in size and sometimes to different types of course.
A nice 25 ft TT will take you anywhere you want to go and fit in just about any campground with ease. An F150 should pull the wheels off of it.
Make sure you couple things up properly and have the best tires you can find on it.
Depending on your budget there are plenty of things that are nice to have but there are some musts.
You must find one you can sleep in comfortably in all weather. I would say get an AC for sure especially in Ca.
Get one with a bed area that does not cramp you and plan on buying a decent mattress.
Have fun and just do it.
