New Member from Georgia
Hello everyone,
My name is Paul, I live NE of Atlanta about 30 minutes. After some long thought and weighing pros and cons I have decided to start saving money to purchase and RV to go full-time.
Single, kids grown and gone just me. Since I am not bound to the Georgia area and am very tired of paying high rent with nothing to show for it, I thought I might as well buy an RV. I know you still have to pay pad fees but at least you own what's over your head.
One of the purposes of joining was to benefit from the knowledge of you folks, avoid some common mistakes and not buy something that will be a bad investment. Looking forward to being a part of this community.

Welcome!
You'll see this time after time, but make sure that you find a floor plan that you like first. Don't worry about diesel vs. gas.
Figure out where you might like to stay - campgrounds vs. state / national parks to figure out what length you'll need, then worry about the manufacturer after that.
But if you're not happy with the living area, pretty much nothing else matters.

Thanks to you both, I will be looking at long term so that eliminates some places that have length restrictions.
I live just down the road from Lake Lanier and they have some awesome sites but boy are they expensive.

Also remember that some parks are using the so-called "10-year rule", which restricts coaches over 10 years from staying in their parks. Not saying that you won't find plenty of parks that don't care, but more "extended stay" parks are doing that these days.
Just something to consider if you're thinking used vs. new.
