Welcome from your neighbor to the south! I also lived in Louisiana for 15 years. What kind of rig do you have? Come on down and camp near the Coast !!

I have to say, I spend a lot of time in Vicksburg but not camping. There are several private campgrounds in the area. I have only stayed at Rivertown. It's on hwy 61 south. I thought it would be a good home base for exploring the area. They have a clubhouse and a pool, I felt safe there. since it is a newer park, there is not a lot of mature trees, sites are very sunny. Magnolia rv park is also on hwy 61 south...haven't stayed there. At least one of the casinos has a campground as well. If you want to go a little farther out..Askews landing is in Edwards, ms ..off I20. It has some nice sites, they have a pond, pool, pavilion, camp store, I've camped there several times but it has been a couple of years ago. Natchez has a nice state park, and Delhi La has a nice state park (poverty point). A little farther away, but would be in driving distance from Vicksburg.
