Hello all,

The wife and I just purchased a 2013 Thor Ace 30.1 and are very new to RVing but looking to go full time July 23rd. I have been reading this forum since before we purchased it and have learned a lot in a short amount of time. Currently on a 2 week "maiden voyage" to Southern Maryland and getting some of the kinks worked out since it wasn't used very often. Broke down Tuesday evening on I-85 north near Petersburg, VA leaking transmission fluid pretty bad and since it's still under warranty it has to be seen by a Ford Dealership who couldn't look at it until the following Monday (tomorrow). Luckily they towed us to a nearby campground with full hookup until we could be seen. Fingers crossed it's nothing major and we will be on our way to Maryland soon. Almost forgot to mention we are traveling with 2 dogs and a cat so that makes everything more......challenging, especially servicing the RV. So far we have really enjoyed the camping life even with being broke down staying at South 40 campground right off I-95. I'm sure we will see some of you out on the road, safe travels!

Best of luck with the RV & accept my admiration for traveling with your dogs & cat. We had 3 Dobermans in our travels. All great memories.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

Sorry about your problems so early in your RVing experience. Hopefully it's only a seal or a gasket. Good luck.

Happy Trails!!!

The transmission blew a cooling hose right near the radiator a week and a half ago and the tow truck driver that ford sent found it and said it was a simple fix and patched it up. When he did he must have not added enough fluid and on our way to Maryland the fluid that was in there got too hot and created pressure and it started venting out all over the underbody. Ford dealership added back the fluid we lost and topped us off then tested it for us and we were on our way. 3 hours on the road yesterday with no issues and all is well at the moment. Thank you for all the kind words and wishes!
