New Member from NC

Just moved here to NC from Colorado. Semi retired, sold my home, bought an RV 2006 Georgie Boy Maverick, traveled and stayed in RV parks for 2 months till we landed here. I do not know a thing about RV's and have a million questions but am trying to research many things on my own through forums and websites. But I will say we were very lucky while staying one month at A KOA park in Statesville, NC that two people there who worked there but lived there as well were Godsends!!!

They saw we were doing things wrong when we first set up and came over and gave us a quick over view of our water supply, sewage and a several other things. We were several days without hot water, we didn't know how to get it to work, we had several issues that they came tor our rescue.

I have a basic knowledge now of several systems and things I need to check before I pack my RV and travel. We are hoping in our retirement to start taking trips every few months.

We are still struggling getting our 7 year old German Shepard to relax while in the RV, he hates it. And thats discouraging. We have tried supplements, meletonin, and prescriptions from the vet and he just pants and paces the whole time.

any advice is appreciated on that issue.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me into this group before hand.

Nice to have you here with us.

There is a product called Thundershirt for pets. It is designed to help calm pets during high stress events. Maybe look into it and see if it might be a solution.

Let us know what we can do to help you.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rig. The learning curve is long, very long, but thankfully only steep in the beginning.

You are joining a good group of friends here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can.

We also use the thundershirt for our dog when she gets nervous, most often with thunderstorms.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
