Welcome form an ex-pat Brit. DW and I are originally from Leyland (Lancs). We emigrated in 1968 when I landed a job with Boeing. I retired in '98 and we moved to Anacortes a year later. We started our RV life with a horrible Class C. It was a 26-footer with a Ford 460. The engine had enough smog gear to start the Queen Mary and it got 6 mpg at sea level and about 4.5 at altitude. There's quite a lot of altitude around here.
We managed to unload it while gas was still under $2 a gallon. Now we have a 32' Class A with the Ford V-10 and it gets about 8.5 mpg regardless of altitude. Gas is still a major part of the cost of the lifestyle and if WA state taxes go up another 11 cents, as they're threatening, the lifestyle might be history for us.
