New member from Virginia
Hello from the beautiful mountains of Virginia. We are a family of two humans, four dogs and eight parrots, but only travel with one or two of the critters at a time. We had a TT for three years, and this year bought a MH. Happy camping everyone!

Welcome fellow Virginians. We also are blessed to be able to live in the VA mountains on Smith Mountain Lake.
You will soon find IRV2 is the most helpful RV forum on the net.

Yes, some of them do! We have eight - one Senegal, two male and two female Eclectus, one Catalina macaw, one severe macaw and one blue and gold macaw. Six of them are rescues. We travel with the Senegal and any of the Eclectus. None of the macaws travel. One doesn't like it, one I don't trust not to eat the motor home and the most abused bird of all doesn't trust humans (and I don't blame her!). We work with a multi-state rescue/rehome/education/sanctuary organization.
When we take dogs, the birds stay home and vice versa. We have a Pak-O-Bird, which makes traveling easy, and they love to go hiking, shopping, walking around camp, etc. We are even welcome in Target, the Post Office and several other businesses in our small town. If we take the Eclectus girls, no one really knows they are there. The boy Eclectus talk up a storm, as does the Senegal.
We have quite the menagerie, and enjoy having them with us on trips. We also keep a list of emergency vet clinics and avian veterinarians with us just in case.

So glad too hear someone else has Macaws!!! I just spent all day making a custom perch for our scarlet that fits in our shower. He seems a little leery of it, but I insist on keeping him safe while moving. He should get plenty of sun and not too hot. I was born and raised in N Va...now living on the Eastern upper bay.
Welcome...lots of good folks here.
