New member from wherever we are parked

We are Kit and Rita and have been full time in a motorhome since the fall of 2014.

After 40+ years in the nuclear industry (US Navy and commercial), we were on home leave an assignment at a nuclear plant in China when the company was offering separation packages. This is a windfall one does not expect when near retirement.

The problem being is we had not decided how to spend our retirement aside from sailing our boat in eastern Washington State and visiting friends and family scattered around the country. With no house or car, we had 30 days on expense account to figure it out.

We were lucky to find find a 32 foot 96 Holiday Rambler Endeavor to fix up while and we hit the road. We visited family in Louisiana, Texas and then headed to see our son in Nevada. Got as far as west, west Texas when I found out about date codes on tires. Blew out rear tire on I-10 fortunately close to an exit. The exits had a dirt road with a cattle guard. A tire on the other side had a bulge. First time getting tires replaced next to chicken coop.

Loving the life style, last year we move up to 37 foot 98 Holiday Rambler Endeavor diesel pusher. Date code on the drive tires: 0408. Did not need to learn that lesson again.

We home base in the summer at Ocean Shores and Wallula Gap Washington. In winter we can found in Henderson, Nv; Shreveport, La; or points in between.

I have consulted this site many times on issues with old motorhomes and thought it was time to join and contribute. Recently we went to Speedco and thought about sharing the experience. Too late, several discussions on the subject had taken place. Maybe next time.
