Retired last year and just purchased our first RV. 1998 Winnebago Adventurer 35wp, 1 slide, 30,000 original miles. We are avid motorcycle riders and bought the coach to serve as a home base when we travel. Hotels and fast food just doesn't cut it anymore. The unit is quite clean and impressive inside and out and we paid a very low price for it. Unfortunately have had to put some money in it, but that was budgeted. The radiator had a minor leak. Replaced the "plastic" radiator with a brass one. The rig also had an exhaust leak when I bought it. I thought I had researched everything before I made the decision to buy, but I never researched the Ford 460 and its issues with exhaust manifolds. Oh well, I now have a new left side cylinder head and newly machined exhaust manifolds. Took it out on its maiden voyage (for us) and really enjoyed it until the brake pedal went flat to the floor while descending a hill. Interesting enough, after sitting a day in the campground, the brakes worked fine again. Once we figure out what caused the brake failure, we'll try again. Good news is, everything inside works well. I joined this forum as I have already found some extremely valuable info for a newbie.

Welcome! I have found that the folks on iRV2 are very helpful and provide great advice. I have been helped out, and I have been able to pay that forward as well.
Enjoy your Nu2U RV.
In regard to the repairs, just keep in mind how mush a new one costs, the great thing about a repair is that you know that the repair is fixing a real and know problem, vs taking thousands of $$ just on paper in depreciation just to drive a new MH off the lot.
I hope to meet many longtime & newbie members at the iRV2 national rally in September.
Happy trails,
Tex
