Post New member in Michigan

Hello, new member looking to get into the RV lifestyle part-time. My wife and I are looking to become snowbirds to get away from the Michigan winters. We don't own an RV yet, but we are looking at renting one this summer to go to a folks festival in Canada, and then a little bicycling. We want to know how comfortable we will be with the RV lifestyle before committing serious cash to the proposition.

I am hoping to learn a lot by coming here.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Renting is a good way to stick your toes in the water before diving in!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Hi Ahuka,

Welcome to the Forum from another Michigander! This is a nice place and trying this out prior to purchasing is a good move. Rigs can be expensive and some people don't like it but there are far more who really do love it. You'll figure it out.

PPL Motorhome out of Texas has a great website for checking out RV floor plans. Not suggesting you buy from there, just use the website for checking out rigs and prices. They sell on consignment so all units are used.

YouTube is a great place to learn a lot about using a RV, about fixing things on a RV, and about driving them. You can use the search engine here to enter a subject and then just start reading a thread to learn whatever it is you are interested in.

Best of luck and ask a question whenever you have one. Lynne

Welcome. It sounds like you have a good plan. Most who try it get "bit" by the bug. Good luck
