Hello everyone.

Just joined this site as we are in the process of buying a used RV. This will be our first. Hope we are making a wise decision.
Found this site while researching air filters for our diesel pusher, and the maintenance involved in changing one out.

We are purchasing a 2005 Alfa with a Cat C7/Allison drive train. Impressed with the Freightliner drive train being a truck driver in a previous life. I think I can handle it, got half a million miles behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. Only this unit does not bend in the middle. But it's only got 50K on it, so hopefully it will last until I am too old to drive it. ( I'm 70 now. )

Wife and I celebrate 50 years of marriage next spring, so we are hoping we are proficient in the RV use by then and can enjoy some travels.

Welcome to the group from Wildwood, Fl., for now.

We have some friends that have a 05 Alfa See Ya, they live in Ohio and travel some with us.
They have also joined the Alfa Facebook group and said it has been some good help with issues.
This site has some great people who are amazing in helping out in dissolving issues that pop up.

Old Newbies.

Well, first, thanks for the welcome and kind words.
We have yet to pick up our new/old motor home, probably this week. Looking forward to some fun times!

Congrats on your pending purchase.

Be sure that you have it inspected before you buy it.

Many components on these rigs.

Inspection

Well, I visited with one Inspector about the RV. However, he wants almost $1,000 to inspect the RV and he does not drive it. Seems a little excessive to me, but what do I know. Said it took him 6-8 hours.

I deal with State Certified Inspectors in my Residential Appraisal business and they dont charge that much to do a house.

If he does not drive it how would he determine the drive train worked? Also how would he determined the steering was fine or needed some work?
I know you should have the fluids checked to see if you are getting anti-freeze in the oil or and see if the oil is burnt. But not driving it?
Also don't forget these things are more complicated than a house systems, having an auto side to them.
