New member intro

Hey everyone I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. It’s a long intro and mostly irrelevant. I’ll be getting a 5th wheel and then moving into it full time for a year or so.

A little about me, I’m 32 a full time firefighter and do the books and sales for a fabrication company. I work 48 hours on and 96 hours off, so basically I have a 4 day weekend every week! When I sold my home last year I thought about buying an R.V. and living in it full time. I did the research and already have a relatively new 1 ton truck so I’m covered on the truck portion already. I gave up on the R.V. and got a loft on the island that I firefight on. This lease will be up in about 6 months and I’m dead set on getting into a 5th wheel. (Life change as of 6 months ago) I have a kid that lives in Colorado now and we get spring break, 45 days in the summer and couple weeks in the fall together. It’s nothing for me to get 2 months off in the summer and I think the 5th wheel would make our visits even better. Having the comforts of home and my own vehicle will make us more mobile and much cheaper than a rental and uncomfortable hotel like now. I guess my long intro is me justifying my next move more than anything. I used this forum for info when doing my research last year but never joined. I hope to be able to contribute some eventually and decided to join. I have extensive knowledge in electrical, hydraulics, trailers, axles, lighting, tow ratings and etc. I can’t comment on R.V. life but I’ve worked on many of them through the shop and other large equipment. I hope to see some of you around!

Welcome aboard.
That truck and a fiver will make a great outfit.

Stay away from the light weight units. Quality tends to be heavy.

Thank you for your fire fighting service.
