Smile New member intro :)

Hi, Im Jessi, a 28 year old stay at home mom of 3 little ones. I have been happily married for 8 years to my high school sweetheart. We met at our local county fair and the rest is history. We have a 5 year-old daughter, a 4 year old son and a 9 mo old son. We always planned to homeschool, so hitting the road doesn't seem like such a huge step for us.

I enjoy spending my time w/ my kids and family foremost. Our hobbies include camping, fishing, four wheeling, riding horses, scrap booking, quilting/sewing, reading & playing on the computer.

We are in the middle of a huge family transition right now. We are moving from a 5 bedroom house in the country into a 42 ft 5th wheel in order to travel fulltime around the USA for a few years. Our goal is to actually start traveling next summer. Yes, many people think we are crazy J but we know it will be a great adventure and we will make memories we will cherish the rest of our lives.

We just happened to find a 2005 Dreams by Design 42 ft 5th wheel at a price we could afford. It has 3 slides, the 2nd bedroom w/ bunks, so we have plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen & living room are spacious enough we aren't on top of each other all the time. It was the victim of a fire in the dryer before we got it. The smoke & water damage did a number to it, but the guy we bought it from had already repainted & had new cabnet doors made. We didn't find out until it was too late that one slide is leaking & has severe water damage, so we have to deal w/ that.

We have been living in it for a month and a half now since we sold all the big stuff out of our house & so far, it's going great. We all love it and can't wait for the "real" adventure to begin. I'm sure I will learn loads of new info here and can't wait to jump in.

Have a great week!

Welcome to iRV2. Congratulations on your recent purchase of a 42' 5th wheel. Sorry about the slide leak and the water damage. I admire your decision to full time with your family. Your children will experience our country from a perspective most children don't have the opportunity to do. Post often and share your travel experiences with us. Don't be afraid to ask questions as we have a great group here who like to help when they can.

Welcome to the forum. Educating your children as you travel is a great idea. Reading about where you are going/been, using your head for math how far to go/gone, MPG, etc, Science-Biology of plants, trees, sea life. And HISTORY-you can see where our country started and the evolution that has brought us to this point What an opportunity you have to make learning a real life experience!

LOL! This will really make you smile. We are towing it with a 1990 Chevy 3/4 ton 2 two wheel drive pickup We have pulled it all over Oklahoma, Missiouri, Arkansas & Kansas so far w/ no problems. We can run 70mph as long as the hills aren't too big.

My wife at the time had a type 1 diabetic teen son. We fulltimed and home schooled him for 2 years. And things were a little crowded but not too bad. I think we were the only ones in RV parks that had 3 laptops and a desktop computer.
