New member, joined today!
Good evening all,
New member checking in from Burlington, WA. I’ve been RVing for quite some time. Most of the time renting an RV or Trailer for camping or a weekend outing at the track. In 2013 I purchased a 2003 Monaco Dynasty Regal. I still own that coach and it’s been great. But now we’re looking at a 2015 Dutch Star 4369. My wife is already retired, I’m retiring at the end of the year and we’re planning to be RVing quite a bit. Although I’m a new member, I’ve been utilizing this forum ever since I got my Monaco. It’s been a great source of information and invaluable in helping me maintain and repair my coach. I was using it again to do research on the Dutch Star and I decided it was time to join.
I’m looking forward to sharing experiences and taking in more of the knowledge available here!
Thanks,
Greg

Dutch Star
Welcome!! That Dutch Star is a nice coach. What year Z06 do you have and how do you tow it to the track? Im exploring trailer options to tow mine behind my Allegro Bus.

I have an ‘02 and an ‘07. The ‘02 was my track car for a long time but I’m moving to the 07. I have an 18’ open trailer for towing. I’ve had it for quite some time and it’s perfect for my usage. When I purchased my Monaco, I thought of getting an enclosed trailer, but decided I didn’t want the expense or extra weight. Now with the new to me Newmar, I’m thinking about it again. Don’t really need it, but it would be nice to have the car and all my stuff inside! Not to mention the cool factor of a 22 footer painted to match the coach.

NEWMAR
Greg.... I have a 13 Z06 and I find it hard to get on a lot of the open trailers . Im looking for a 22 Ft with extended tongue might be the correct way to go. Tom

Yes. My C5 went on and off the trailer with no issues. But because of the front splitter and the low ride height, getting my C6 on the trailer was a learning process. I have to lift the front of the trailer pretty high, and I have a set of long Race Ramps to lessen the transition angle onto the trailer ramps. But even with that I cracked my front splitter on one occasion. My trailer has a steel deck and the edge is about ½ inch higher than the trailer ramps. Not a lot, but it caught the splitter as I drove on. Now I’m careful to fully lift the front of the trailer and once I’m on far enough, I lower it again and use my winch the rest of the way so I can keep an eye on everything.
A 22’ enclosed would also be great for the additional space. With just my track box tied on behind the car my trailer is full. And I don’t have the extended tongue, but I use an 8” hitch extension. I originally got it for my Hummer with the outside tire carrier, but the extra length is really nice behind the RV also.
This almost feels like I’m talking myself into a new trailer.

Hey Greg!
Welcome to the IRV2 Forum! You're about to dive into an amazing RV adventure, and I can't wait for you to experience all the joy it brings. I recently came across a fantastic eight-part travel blog here, where a young man explored a stunning area just north of you, up in British Columbia. If you haven't had the chance to check it out yet, I think you’ll love reading about his journey. Here’s the link to the blog on our forum—I'm sure you'll find it inspiring! P.S. I'm down here in Florida but did enjoy the read.

Griego,
Thanks for the link to the travel blog. I can’t wait to read through it. Will be interesting to see if it calls out any of the places I know. I’ve done a lot of travel in BC with the Spokane and BC Corvette clubs. Still have a lot of friends up there. And I actually purchased my Monaco in Prince George. There are some great sites to see and places to visit in BC so looking forward to visiting in the RV sometime. And there’s some great RV spots near Nelson and Ainsworth.
Thanks again
Greg
