Hi all,

Long time listener, first time caller here -

i've been camping with truck campers and travel trailers for oh probably 25 years or so. Currently i have a 2014 sportsmen's classic 19BH.

I'm looking into vintage motorhomes as a potential project to try out some lightweight design ideas that i've seen online, like foam core FRP sandwich panels and aerodynamic modifications to improve mileage.

i've come across what appears to be a good basis for my project - a 1980 dodge transvan that already has the interior gutted.

My problems are 3 fold:

1. i don't know what i'm doing!
2. I don't know how to do it!
3. I don't anything about transvans! (i haven't bought it yet)

so far, this site seems to have the most information and now that i have questions that aren't directly answered by googling the site it is time to make an account so i can ask them directly.

thanks for allowing me!

Welcome aboard.
Youtube is your friend regarding van mod's and how to configure the insides.
Lots of really neat interiors can be built by folks travelling in just a standard sized van. Depends on whether you will be doing a lot of camping or a lot of driving, staying a campgrounds or boondocking.
There are even lots of forums on "stealth camping".
Just do a lot of research before you start building and take it slow.
Good luck, and let us see the results.
