New Member - Myrtle Beach, SC

New member here, really new actually because I have never owned an RV. My wife Linda and I are empty nesters, 3 daughters all on their own. I'm wanting to purchase a used class A and introduce my wife to camping with some short trips to selected sites before we push things a bit further. I can use any advice.

Big leap. You can rent RVs and camp local as a test of the lifestyle.

If your going to buy first, have her onboard with the decision.

Welcome from Blythewood, SC. Just spent a week at MBSP. good idea to rent one before buying. If she don’t like it you’re out a few bucks.

Since you are located in the MB area there are many places you can start out the camping experience.

The 3 southern campgrounds are good for a real feel start. There are the State Parks and some good new parks in the NMB area.
If you want to buy used check out the dealers, shop them all but be very careful. Stay away from Camping World at all costs. Check this site for CW stories and you will know what we are talking about.
Good luck if you have additional questions private message me, I am local

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks with great info to share. Before jumping into purchasing an RV you might want to rent a couple of times to see if the RV life "fits". Then start visiting dealers to see what is out there.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Welcome to IRV2. Check out RV.org. They rate RVs and have information on the selection and dealing process. Good RV hunting.

When you first enter this group, a new Member may feel a bit overwhelmed by all the forums you can find here. First, you need to set up your USER CP
Once you open and start a menu will open on the left side just take it all in the step-by-step top to bottom.
NEXT, you will find this forum is made up of 14-Forums broken into four-part forums. First is the HOME, top left above the member's menu. This forum is very helpful to new members to learn and become more familiar with overtime.

Wife is on board with the adventure. I picked up a 2006 Damon Challenger 353W as a starter RV. Going to play with it for the next year and see where this takes us. Kind of excited!

Welcome to the RV World.

Since you have gotten a rig and would like to get started, check out the following. In the Forum section go over to "Southeast" this will take you to the "Carolina Campers" They have a get together scheduled for November 14 thru the 18th at Carolina Pines Resort on rt 90 above Conway.

Read the posts and if you think it would be good for you, sign up and have a fun week end
